The little goat that Pendleton Police brought to the Sanctuary this morning had to be taken to Hermiston Veterinary Hospital.

The little goat named Natalie by Sanctuary staff is malnourished, dehydrated, has internal parasites, over grown hoofs and a large hernia low on her left side resulting from a blow to the area. Pendleton Police had thought that the goat might be pregnant but the ultrasound results indicated that is unlikely. Natalie received medication to treat the parasites and necessary inoculations, she will return to Hermiston veterinary Hospital to have her hoofs treated. Tonight Natalie is resting in her private suite at the Sanctuary; she is on a special feeding program and will be observed to see if the hernia will require repair.
